Poachers son

POACHER’S SON NOTES (from now until Christmas Break)

Day 1 (12-7-15) Pages 1-21 Chapters 1-2
Historical Fact In Prologue:no I did not and I found it interesting because it's true

First impression after Chapter 1: very interesting I like it because it's about Maine and the game wardens it painted a pretty clear picture in my head of like the Maine woods and all the detail

Quote I connect to:"like a few youngs boys I view my dad as a strong man" this important because my dad raised me and my brother all on his own when my mom and dad got a divorce.

Suspicious Character: dead river inn, shaved head man "militia freak" deputy

Second impression After Chapter 2: the book is getting interesting and weird. What happened in day 1 and 2 the game warden got a call about a pig getting killed by a bear and invests gated it and when he got home it was a message from his father he hadn't heard from in 2 years. Chapter 2 the main character and his girlfriend and his dad go and get drinks at a bar and a bar fight happens and the father goes to jail for a night but the charges get dropped.

Day 2 (12-9-15)
What do we know about the murder?:

Vocab word of the day: wendigo
A wendigo is a cannabalistic creature that started out a human and when harsh times came they resorted to cannabalism and they would transform into this creature over time from being a cannibal. The creature is described to be very tall and have yellow skin matted fur and have a very very terrible hunger for human flesh.also name of paper company.
Key characters:
Mike Bowditch-game warden jacks son doesn't like to kill animals
Russell Pelletier-owns sporting camo where dad works
Jack Bowditch-mikes father, poacher
Kathy Frost-mikes supervisor,18 year veteran of warden service
Mike broduer and wendigo timber company man were killed, meeting happened and then murder happened while they were in cruiser. Dad calls him say night as murder. Murder had happened near had happened at dead river in.

My opinion about the fight Between Mike and DeSalle: boats not registered and shows him liscense and he gave him his registration and when the boy falls in and he ask them for there flotation devices,

Day 3 (12-11-15)
How is Mike feeling:
Ticked off about desalle. And he just found out his dad got arrested
Bear attack research:
Because black bears are shy they usually don't attacks humans there has only been 10 bear attacks in Maine sense 1980.
Stress check:
7.5
Big event chapter 7:

Day 4 (12-15-15)
Identity (Mike defines himself in opposition to his dad, is there someone who you have made yourself the opposite of, or who you have used as a role model?): I'm really the opposite of my brother for a whole we're alike because we were into the same things and what not but now me and him are very different he wants to be a pharmacist and I wanna be a welder he doesn't car what vehicle he has I want a big lifted truck he's into nerdy video game stuff I'm really not

New Characters:
Charley Stevens- he's a retired game warden and he's a really amazing guy owns a small plane and still helps out the department.
Lieutenant Malcomb- a cop from the station who is being a dink
Deputy Twombley- cop who went to go find mikes dad
Truman dellus: works at rum pond with Russell and Jack and he is an alcoholic
•News Update: huge man hunt and malcomb is bringing him to the scene. Desalle made a complaint. Father stole 2 guns and he's injured. His dad got a 2 hour head start on the trackers and he might be roughly 10 miles from the trackers. Dad holds hermit hostage shits have been fired. Hermit fires shots to more than likely distract the police and let Jack get away.
Important info to murder: they went a back road instead of the normal road so someone had info about it. So had to have known about there route change
Day 5 (12-17-15)
Vocab word of the day: Recluse
A hermit and a person who lives alone in the woods for the most part.
Famous Hermit from Maine- the man lived in the olds for 27 years and stole from out of season hunting camps apfor food and that only. He got caught by a spot light and went ahead and got 7 months in jail. He only spoke to one person throughout those 27 years. His tent was 600 yards away from the nearest residence.

3-5 Tips on escaping Trackers in Maine Woods- wear rubber boots, hard areas to walk, zig zag through rivers, use deer urine,

Maine Suspect? Jack or russel because they lose aLot to wendigo timber

Relationship to death-
Because it's out in the woods your all alone you don't have to worry about much except getting another call and maybe because it just he might feel bad for all the dead animals
Day 6 (12/21/15)
Vivid Snapshot written like a passage from Mike Bowditch novel:
Vernon tripp: paranoid milita freak, at the guy that got thrown out of the meeting, also owns a trading post, he thinks everything he try's to do is controlled by the paper company, protesting windigo earlier that summer.made a verbal threat before he left.
The bear is like his dad because he wants to protect it and make sure it safe and nothing bad has happened to and it's also very elusive and he cannot seem to catch it.the bear is a symbol of his dad running away from the police and from him for so long he can't catch them
The last winter I spent in Maine my mom and dad were still together-before my mother packed me and my brother to move to Montana- he kept an old snowmobile out back that we used everyone and then. Other times we used it we would check the ice for thickness. Also the snowmobile smelt like old gas and oil he told me to never touch the gas cap because it leaked gas and he didn't want me getting gas on my gloves while I held on. My mom hated the snowmobile sometimes. I watched him many hours changing the spark plugs and other components.
One day me and my dad just went out. Normally the ice was thick out back. We were going down back on the river and then we habit a soft spot and went through. I don't remember much of the walk back or anything I remeber just waking up to the sound of the neighbors four wheelers towing it back up the trail.
possible suspects:dad, skin head,

The hunter

As rainsferd sleeps in his bed a little light glows in side of him, the light glows bright and a new question presents itself" do I stay and hunt humans and take the spot of the of the general? Or do I go home and live a normal life? The next morning rainsferd looks out at the court yard at the dogs the dogs Coke up to him and muzzle him as If he had owned them his entire life, he sees a the generals mutilated body and pulls the black cigarettes and the brandy from the bloody and torn jacket of the general takes a swig and and lights a cigarette and then off in the distance he hears" hello?!?! Anyone out there" and rainsferd thinks to himself" the hunt is on"

I think this because he now knows what it's like to be hunted and has a better idea of hunting he knows how the prey acts and how they work. He likes the thrill of hunting another human and the challenge so he decides to take over the generals spot and hunt humans the light inside of him will glow until a better hunter takes that glow and decides what to do with it

11/12 poetry notes

He uses a lot of detail
Lots of similes
Rhyming
It's flows really well
Paints a picture in your head
Uses comedy
Lots of metaphor
Repeated lines
Bible

My keys are important they carry the ability for me to get in and out of my house and my car keys helps me with transportation, my wallet makes it so I buy food when my wallet is full it puts me in a good mood, I always carry 2 pens a soapstone pen for welding and marking metal my pen is always important because it marks certain things.

The feelings that I carry are the sadness of my moms passing this causes me a lot of pain because I lost her at a 14 I lost before I was even a teen, I always carry the fear of having no friends and that I'll be lonely forever sometime I wish I never had friends, happiness is an odd occurrence for me, it only seems to come when I am free.

I carry the memory of the day I got my first kiss, it was the happiest of my life I had gotten over a huge hump in my somehow at teenage life.mot was the first time I feel in love and because of that I got attached and my heart broken but out of that came one of best friendships today.

The saddest memory I carry is the passing of my mom I never got to say goodbye to her. She was the only mom I had and now I have to deal with the pain of that I never got to say goodbye to her and that I can no longer call her and talk to her whenever I want

I believe that you should be nice to everyone you meet because you don't know who they are or what the things they carry are, be nice to everyone because one day they might remember that and give you something back

I carry the hope that one I will have a nice big house and good welding job that pays over 100,000$ a year and that I will have a son who will be a Mini me.
Pain is a burn that never leaves.
The feelings that I carry are the sadness of my moms passing the truth is this causes me a lot of pain even though I may not show it, A quote my grandmother likes is" Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal, but love leaves memories no one can steal". My depression is a cloud just forever hanging over me never leaving. I can still see the pain in my dads eyes the day we found out she died. In 10-20 I will still miss her and love her but I will forever know she is in a better place. Her hand print on my wall still emminates energy as if she was still here. I lost her at a 14 I lost before I was even a teen, I always carry the fear of having no friends and that I'll be lonely forever sometime I wish I never had friends, happiness is an odd occurrence for me, it only seems to come when I am free.

My personality type

An ENFP needs to focus on following through with their projects. This can be a problem area for some of these individuals. Unlike other Extraverted types, ENFPs need time alone to center themselves, and make sure they are moving in a direction which is in sync with their values. ENFPs who remain centered will usually be quite successful at their endeavors. Others may fall into the habit of dropping a project when they become excited about a new possibility, and thus they never achieve the great accomplishments which they are capable of achieving. Most ENFPs have great people skills. They are genuinely warm and interested in people, and place great importance on their inter-personal relationships. ENFPs almost always have a strong need to be liked. Sometimes, especially at a younger age, an ENFP will tend to be "gushy" and insincere, and generally "overdo" in an effort to win acceptance. However, once an ENFP has learned to balance their need to be true to themselves with their need for acceptance, they excel at bringing out the best in others, and are typically well-liked. They have an exceptional ability to intuitively understand a person after a very short period of time, and use their intuition and flexibility to relate to others on their own level. An ENFP who has "gone wrong" may be quite manipulative - and very good it. The gift of gab which they are blessed with makes it naturally easy for them to get what they want. Most ENFPs will not abuse their abilities, because that would not jive with their value systems.

Week one of book

Video of artist: watched a video about Steven wiltsheer who draws Rome just from memory. I thought autism was you just had trouble learning and speaking. But now I think of it as maybe if you lose some of one sense and it strengthens another or that he just gets really focused on that and not anything else.

Chris's brain
He's sees everything in detail
He likes space and he's know a lot about the world
Can't read faces
Does not like loud noise or screaming
Cold and wet grass is comforting

Brain test: I saw them pass it about 20 times and I saw a guy in a gorilla costume. The first time I ever saw this video I did not see the gorilla and was surprised one was there. I think this is too test too see how we can become so focused on one thing and not see anything else

Chris's brain notes
His brains work slowly*
Comforting to think about the universe and the stuff in it
He's knows measurements of rooms
He hates metaphors
He always likes to know the time
He and his dad touch hands
He didn't mean to hurt the police officer

Hidden brain npr
People assume you will communicate better with someone you know because you have know them for a long time and you think you too are on the same page. Like the example a couple is in a room  and the wife says" it's hot in here" what the life is saying is that the husband should open a window to cool down the rooms and the husband thinks that the wife is just making a general statement by saying" it's hot in here". When you first meet someone you want to make sure they will understand you so you make sure to be very clear about certain things. As suppose to when you know someone you just assume that they are on the same page as you and you don't question in.

Notes on Chris's brain continued
He has a lot of fears of the unknown*
He likes facts and the truth
He likes to be alone when he's sad
He likes hospitals
He hates change
He doesn't take orders
Needs specific directions
Best guess: the father killed it so him and mrs shears could get closer

Kindness essay

9/17/15
Jake Lewis
English 12
                                                                        The gift of kindness
"Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see"- Mark twain

The movie is very good and interesting and my dad served 20 years in the air force and he always taught me to respect the people who serve our country. My friend who is going into the army I just thanked him the other day for going in even though  he doesn't ship out till march and I saw a man in a military uniform at the gas station the other day and while me and my friend were their I thanked him for his survice while he was pumping gas. You should always respect and give thanks to those who serve because without them we wouldn't be here right now. This movie kind of inspires me too join the military and that you should always be nice because you don't know what that person has been through and or what that person has done so no matter the cause just be be nice so it inspires me too be nice to people.

I like Bill the most because he takes in stray cats even tho he is in poverty he gives them something nice even though he doesn't have a lot to give.  He also talks about being sad that he is sick but he still continues to go see the troops. I know when I am sick I never wanna go out and public and sense Bill is elderly on top of being sick on the middle of winter it must be really hard for him to go and greet the troops but he still manages to get up and go greet the troops even when he is not in the best condition of his life.

The people at Wendy's gave me free chicken nuggets because they felt for giving me chicken nuggets that were in the old batch from that after noon. So all in al I got 12 nuggets and 6 of them were free when I said my nuggets were fine but they gave me free ones anyways. Another act of kindness I do on a daily basis is I  take out my elderly neibhors trash everyday and I have been doing that for about 2 years now and I also shovel her walk way and help get decorations for them from their storage unit it makes her happy because she has a bad hip and can't get around that well anymore.

Once me and my dad were going to Portland to run some errands and on the way there an asshole cut a lady off and she swerved and went off the road into the snow that was around 3 feet deep and we pulled over and helped her out of her car and we called the police and made sure she was ok and if she needed any further help I had to to give a witness report and everything for the police officer.

I'm gonna apply this in my life by always thanking soldiers for their service and by always doing so wing nice for people weather it's holding the door for someone or towing someone out of a snow bank  . Our generation and the generation before us both show that they are kind buts it's kind of our job now to be kind and hold the door for those people who are walking into Walmart or even as simple as saying have a nice day when hanging up the phone. Kindness come in all shapes and forms and everyone should apply it to their life in one way or another--

my favorite song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FhRhzAWzLA, I remember it was the first day I got my license and got a text from Owen asking me to help him with stacking hay so I asked my dad for the keys to Blazer and he  said " keep it under 100".   I was on my way there and also played on the way back and I was very sweaty and not doing the speed limit and I was by myself. the only thing I could see was the road and tree and I was thinking about what I was gonna buy for a drink. I like this song because it has a nice sound to it and it's catchy and it reminds me of my Canadian friend who loves Sam hunt and showed me him.
