2 men murdered on back road in northern Maine
Maine state police investigators have found out who killed the police officer and the man from wendigo, Jack bowditch murdered the two men at the begenning of the week. The victims of the murders have been Eric Shipman Deputy Brodeur.
Jack ran off to as far north as Canada, the murderer was found dead from committing suicide with a 44 magnum Ruger. Witnesses gave authorities a description of what Jack, he was a very outdoors type man very built and loved the woods he knew a lot about the Maine woods and what do and how to avoid being tracked by police. Jack lived at Rum Pond with his girl friend Brenda Jean, his son mike is a Game Warden and was working on the case and very sadly had to witness his fathers own ending.
Charley Stevens was wounded from gun shot and a plan crash. I asked Charley how his leg was doing and he said "still attached to the rest of me". No one else was wounded from the altercation.
Brenda Jean, Jacks girlfriend was also killed by drowning in the lake moments before Jack took his own life.
Two of Jack bowditchs friends were murdered also in the whole situation Truman dellis and Russell Pelletier. Truman was killed because he threatened a Maine game warden and Russell was found dead in his cabin with a gunshot wound to the chest and Truman was found with half his head missing from a shotgun.
Their was a lot of investigating before all of these murders took place when the first two happened at the begenning of the week they thought they had already lost because Jack was in the Maine woods. They thought they had him at a hermit hut in the middle of the woods only to find out they had been tricked and Jack had left in most of the comotion that was happening and escaped back in the Maine woods.
I interviewed a couple people one of them being Mike bowditch Jacks son. "You never know what you will get called into one morning while on the job you could being chasing bears that killed pigs or you could being chasin your own father because he is wanted for murder," Mike said.
When I got to the hospital I interviewed Charley Stevens a longtime warden himself and a longtime friends of the wardens sense his retirement" I was flying in to check on things at rumpond and next thing you know I'm getting shot one bullet after another they were whizzing past me taking my gauges and one even grazed me". " I was in my plane for a while till I heard someone swimming towards me and it was Mike he swam out to see if I was ok and I could have been a lot worse I'm lucky to be alive".
While waiting to interview Chrley Stevens I ran into his wife Ora and she had a few words to say herself" This whole thing is a lot to take in at once it's the most that's happened in our little town in a longtime 6 people dead in one week sure takes a toll on the community".
When I came this little town I went to the Dead River Inn and the owner Sally Reynolds had something to say about this whole thing" Mr Brodeur used to sit at the end of the road and catch drunk drivers he would always volunteer for anything the other officers and wardens threw at him". " Jack was always an interesting man very intimidating was never scared of anyone else always said what was on his mind and when he did he was probably drunk".
The last person I contacted was Jacks ex spouse Marie Bowditch, at first she didn't wanna talk but then realized it would be best to say soemthing" I never knew my ex husband was capable of murder and this whole thing disgusts me to a point that I haven't felt sense I was married to him"
In the months following the murders Wendigo timber decided not to charge people the land they were owning and instead let them keep it. Jacks son Mike is still a Maine game warden and working everyday around the clock protecting maine woods and preserving it. Charley Stevens made a full recovery after some time in the hospital and some physical therapy and says he plans on to keep on flying maaines sky's as he always does and still helps the Maine game wardens. Sally Reynolds also told me her little inn has been getting a lot more business sense the murders along with RumPond sporting goods with there news owners and new staff they are sure to keep going in he years to come.
